나이가 들면서
나를 옭아매는 끈이 생겼다
아들로, 남편으로
아버지로서의 끈
많은 끈들이 나를 옭았다
무수히 많은 끈에
꼼짝도 하지 못하고 묶여 살았다
나는 끈에서 벗어나기 위해
무던히 몸부림쳤다
옛날로 돌아가
자유롭고 싶었다
나이가 들면서 끈들이
끊어지고 느슨해졌다
예전보다 헐거워졌는데
자유롭지 않다
아니, 묶여 살던 옛날이 그립다
나를 옭죄는 끈에
묶여 살고 싶다
팽팽하게 당기는 끈이 주던
안정감
다시 예전처럼
끈에 묶여 살고 싶다

Ties

As I grew older,
ties began to bind me —
as a son, a husband,
a father.
So many ties ensnared me.
Lashed by countless cords,
I lived without moving.
I struggled endlessly
to break free of them.
I wanted to go back
to who I was — unbound, free.
As I grew older, the ties
loosened and frayed.
Slacker now than before —
yet I am not free.
No. I miss the days
of living bound.
I want to be ensnared again
by ties that pull taut.
The steadiness that came
from a cord pulled tight —
I want to live again, bound.
Tied — and in that, free.
